5 Ways to Decalcify Your Pineal Gland

The pineal gland is a small endocrine gland located in the back portion of the third cerebral ventricle of the brain.

Since ancient times, the Egyptians would call this gland " The Eye of Horus", referring to what we know as the third eye.  The pineal gland produces melantonin, the hormone that regulates our sleep/wake cycles and dreams.  It is known that when we have an active third eye (ajna chakra), it leads us to the inner realms of the universe and higher consciousness.   Ancient Egyptians knew about the significance of the pineal gland thousands of years ago, when spiritually and psychic awareness was at it's peek.  If we take a look at the Eye of Horus and the pineal gland within the brain, we find that they look very similar.  This symbol represents good health, protection, and royal power.  The Eye of Horus is associated with the goddesses Wajet-"The Green One"

By the time we reach adulthood, majority of us will have a calcified pineal gland.  One of the main causes of this is the consumption of fluoride.  The tap water we drink has high amounts of fluoride as well as bottled water.  The fluoride accumulates in the pineal gland more than any other organ and leads to the formation of phosphate crystals.  These crystals harden the pineal gland, lessening the production of melontonin and disturbs the regulation of our sleep cycle.  Many of the processed foods containing high amounts of calcium, additives, sugars, and artificial sweeteners also harden the pineal gland.  Many theorist believe that mass media programs promoting fluoride and calcium in our food/water are encouraged by government programs (Gaia.com).

Eliminate Fluoride.

To start decalcifying our pineal gland, start by eliminating fluoride.  We can do this by having fluoride free tooth paste and avoiding drinking tap water and brands that have high amounts of fluoride.   If possible drink alkaline water brands that are fluoride free. The brands I purchase are Essentia and Fuji.  Look into purchasing a Alkaline Pitcher as well.  

Eat more plant-based foods.

Eating a plant-based diet filled with leafy greens and super foods can help decalcify the pineal gland.  Super foods such as spirulina , raw cocoa, chlorella, and apple cider vinegarhelp remove metal toxins from the body that you consume when taking high amounts of fluoride.   Eliminate processed foods from your diet and try to cut down your meat intake.  Many processed foods and meats contain unnatural ingredient such as additives, GMOs, added sugars and toxins that contribute to hardening the pineal gland.  Thinking about be a vegan, check out Transitioning into a Vegan 101

Mediate, chant, and do Yoga.

The Yoga poses in practice are not just for exercising but help unblock  certain chakras.  Chanting certain mantras (Om., Thohh, May) are meant to help open your third eye.  Mediation helps calm the mind so we'll be able to heighten our intuition and psychic awareness. 

Limit your time on your devices at night. 

Staying up on our phones, computers, tablets, and other backlit devices stimulates serotonin production.  This tricks the brain into thinking that its day time and messes with our sleep cycle.  When we sleep in complete darkness the pineal gland will be able to produce more melotonin.  The more melotonin we have promotes a healthier sleep cycle and we'll be able to tap more into our dreams/intuition.   


Sun-gazing during sunrise and sunset, when there are no UV rays, provides a lot of health benefits.  Sun-gazing around this time increases production of melatonin and serotonin.  The rays enter through your cornea. stimulating the pituitary and pineal gland.  This also helps increase the actual size of the pineal gland.  Children are born with a full size pineal gland but by the time we reach puberty, it starts to decrease in size.  Ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians, Aztecs, Greeks, and Romans knew the power of the sun and how we can use it to retrieve information from the universe. 

There are many practices you can use to decalcify your pineal gland.  I recommend all practices and to incorporate mediation in your daily routine.  Learning how to meditate, we begin to calm our mind and think more clearly.  Spiritually is a life practice so make it important to surround yourself with positive people and eat a healthy diet.
